Check-in & attendance

Check-in that keeps up with the mat rush

Put any tablet by the door. Members tap their name or scan their code, packs and monthly allowances count themselves, and every check-in lands in their attendance history — no clipboard, no app.

Included in every gym · No add-ons · No member app

The usual way

Where it breaks

  1. 1

The clipboard never makes it to the computer

Paper sign-in sheets get filled in, then forgotten. A month later you can't say who's training and who's paying for a membership they stopped using.

  2. 2

    Class packs counted from memory

Ten-class cards punched by hand, drop-ins scribbled in a notebook. Credits leak, and nobody wants to argue about it at the door.

  3. 3

You find out someone quit when they cancel

Attendance drops for weeks before a member leaves. Without the data in one place, the first sign is the cancellation email.

How it works

Check-in & attendance, on CornerDesk

  • Any tablet becomes the kiosk

Open the kiosk once while signed in and that device stays paired to your gym — no staff login left open. Add a PIN if you want one.

  • A name, a code, or a QR scan

Members type two letters of their name and tap, or punch in their 6-digit code. Their portal shows the code as a QR, and a USB scanner or (on Android) the tablet's camera reads it.

  • Parents check the kids in too

Search a parent's name and their children come up with them — check in up to six people in one go.

  • Packs and monthly limits count themselves

A class pack loses one credit per check-in; a classes-per-month plan counts against the member's billing cycle. An empty pack still lets them in — turning someone away is your call — and the screen tells you.

  • Classes that need a rank, enforced

Set a minimum rank on a class and the kiosk stops members below it. Coaches can still check anyone in by hand.

  • Attendance you can act on

Every check-in lands on the member's profile. Reports show 12 weeks of attendance, your busiest classes, and no-show rates — and members whose attendance is dropping show up on your Today screen.

$99 CAD/mo — flat.

Check-in & attendance is part of every gym — not a tier, not an add-on. Unlimited members, staff, and classes, and the first 30 days are free.

Billed in Canadian dollars, including to gyms in the US. CornerDesk takes no cut of member payments; Stripe’s processing fees apply to card payments on your own Stripe account (see Stripe’s pricing). Cash or e-transfer you record in CornerDesk has no processing fee.

The FAQ

Owners ask

01What hardware do I need for check-in?

Any tablet or computer with a modern browser. There's nothing to install — open the kiosk once while signed in and the device stays paired to your gym. A USB barcode scanner works too if you want one.

02Do members need an app to check in?

No. They tap their name on the kiosk, or use the QR code in their member portal — a link they get by text that opens in any browser.

03How does it know someone is drifting?

CornerDesk compares each member's last two weeks against their own eight-week average. Members who've stopped coming, or whose attendance has dropped well below their normal, land on your Today screen with a message ready to send.

04Can a walk-in check in on the kiosk?

Yes. A "First time here?" button takes their name and contact details and agreement to your waiver, records their visit, and saves them as a lead you can follow up.

05Does check-in work for kids' classes?

Yes — children linked to a parent appear when you search the parent's name, so the whole family checks in at once.
