A card declines. It's handled before you hear about it.
The member gets a text with a link to update their card. The moment they do, CornerDesk charges the open invoice. You see every failure — and every recovery — on one screen, without chasing anyone.

Failed payment recoveryWhere it breaks
- 1
Declines you find out about weeks later
A card expires, the charge fails, and you notice at month-end — if you notice at all.
- 2
The awkward conversation at the door
Nobody opened a gym to ask people about money between rounds.
- 3
Revenue that quietly leaks
Every unrecovered decline is a member training for free, or a member who drifts away because no one asked.
Failed payment recovery, on CornerDesk
The member hears first
When a payment fails, the member — or the parent who pays for the family — gets a text (or an email, without a phone number) with a secure link to update their card.
A new card pays right away
As soon as the card is updated, CornerDesk retries the open invoice. Between now and then, Stripe's automatic retries keep trying.
Every failure on your Today screen
Who declined, how much, when, and when the next retry runs. Re-send the link with one tap, or mark it settled if they paid at the desk.
Recovered money, counted
When a later payment goes through, the failure closes and the membership is active again. The Money page shows what you've recovered.
No front-desk billing talk
If a past-due member checks in at the kiosk, it quietly says "see the front desk" — never their balance.
Your Stripe, your money
Payments run through your own Stripe account and settle to you. CornerDesk takes no cut of member payments.
Owners ask
01How are failed payments retried?
Stripe retries automatically on its own schedule, and CornerDesk retries immediately whenever the member updates their card. Your Today screen shows when the next attempt is due.
02What does the member receive?
A text — or an email if there's no phone number on file — with a link to their member portal, where they can update their card in a browser. No app, no password.
03Who gets the message for a kid's membership?
Whoever pays. When a child is billed to a parent, payment messages go to the parent.
04Can I turn the texts off?
Yes. The failed-payment message is an automation you can switch off or reword in Settings.

Your corner is ready.
Fifteen minutes of setup. Tomorrow morning, one screen tells you what your gym needs.
